How long have you been in business?
Kahu Pet Services, LLC was established in March 2024, and the team has been growing across the Georgetown, Texas (Williamson County) and Austin, Texas (Travis County) areas since then. We are a Limited Liability Company registered in the State of Texas. We are pending our trademark.
Are you insured and bonded?
We are insured and bonded through Business Insurers of the Carolinas. Ask about what our insurance covers in your meet and greet! Full insurance and bonding information is available upon request.
How long will it take to be contacted?
Thank you for reaching out to Kahu Pet Services. We will contact you as soon as possible to pair you with a walker/sitter and establish your account. Our goal is to get to everyone within four business hours, though times may vary.
Are you a small business?
Yes, we are a disabled veteran-owned and woman-owned small business.
What is our most popular service?
Good question! We offer drop-in visits, almost overnight pet sitting, dog and cat walking, pet and medical transportation, adventure day field trips, farm care, and litter box services, but most of our clients request 30-minute drop-in visits. A half-hour visit is enough time for us to love and feed or walk your pets without being rushed. We also offer 45- and 60-minute visits for shy pets or pets that need a little extra love!
What is the cancellation policy?
We recognize that plans can change. To honor the time of your pet sitter/walker and other clients, especially during holidays, please cancel your pet sitting services at your earliest convenience, or no later than 7 days prior to the first visit. Cancellations within 7 days of a holiday reservation will result in a 50% service charge. For regular pet walking services, please cancel at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a $10 fee.
How far in advance should I schedule?
We suggest submitting requests for pet sitting for while you are out of town around a month ahead, and requests for dog/cat walks a week ahead. We always encourage planning as far in advance as possible as our schedules do fill up each day.
How do I schedule and pay for dog walking and pet sitting?
You can request services by emailing kahupetservices.com or by calling +1.512.734.2731. You can pay for services at https://kahupetservices.net/ by credit card or pay the pet sitter/walker directly by check or cash.
Will you need a key to my house?
We require a key or you can use one of our lockboxes.
Will you need our house security code?
We need your house security code if you have one.
Why is Kahu Pet Services better than an independent pet sitter?
Independent pet sitters can’t offer the reliability, coverage, or security you get when hiring Kahu Pet Services. With Kahu Pet Services, you are getting a proven professional pet care company and a team that provides superior customer support, backup sitters, are bonded, and have an applicable insurance policy through Business Insurers of the Carolinas.
Are you a positive reinforcement company?
Yes! We will not utilize e-collars, prong collars, or any aversive techniques.
Is my pet sitter/walker background checked?
Yes! All of our pet professionals go through a comprehensive 7 panel federal, state, and local background check process through ACUTRAQ.
What awards have you earned?
Our team of pet professionals was voted a Nextdoor Neighbor Fave in 2024. We are so thankful to all of our amazing clients for their support and for making this possible.
What if my regular dog walker or pet sitter is not available?
We work together as a team! We always send one of our managers to your free meet and greet where they will introduce your pets to any of our team members who will be caring for your pets.
I’m not sure what my pet needs?
Every pet and family is unique, which is why all of our services are entirely customizable! Don’t see what you are looking for? Just let us know what you need, and the odds are we can make it happen!
Where do you go for adventure day field trips?

Some suggestions are: Cedar Park Bark Park, Blue Hole, Crockett Gardens and Falls, Cedar Breaks Park, Brushy Creek Lake Park, Old Settlers Park, Russell Park, San Gabriel Park, or Domain Central Bark. During the adventure, your pet will enjoy transportation, affection, hydration, treats, walks with oatmeal paw cream treatment, playtime, leashed swimming, park visits, towel drying, pet photos, a report card, and bathroom breaks.
Do you have emergency plans in place?
Absolutely! We have plans in place for every situation and have built relationships with local veterinarians and other local businesses to ensure your pet’s safety, health, and happiness.

Why choose Kahu Pet Services?
Each of our sitters must pass an interview and a comprehensive 7 year federal, state, and local background check from ACUTRAQ before hiring. Once in the field, they must maintain a Pet CPR/First Aid Certification from the American Red Cross, and continually attend animal training and behavior classes. Additionally, many of our pet sitters/walkers are veterinary technicians, animal trainers, grew up on a farm, or volunteers with animal rescue groups.
What types of pets do you care for?
We care for all types of pets-furry, feathered, or scaly. These pets can be household or farm animals.
Can you administer medications?
Yes! We can administer oral medications, thyroid creams, ointments, and injections. Just show us what you need and provide the medications.
Can I keep my pet outside?
All pets housed outdoors or with outdoor access must have adequate shelter with access to shade in summer, warmth in winter, and plenty of fresh water. Dogs and cats must have tags and be microchipped. Any applicable laws regulating having a pet outside must be abided by for the pet’s wellbeing.
Can you leash train my dog or cat?
While we are not professional trainers, we can certainly help train them to walk properly using various walking tools that all provide positive reinforcement training. We’ve found most dogs or cats that are learning to walk properly on a leash do best when on a consistent walking schedule of at least two or three days a week.
Do you do pack walks?
No! We provide individual attention and care to each of our pets we walk.
What do you do during inclement weather?
We will plan on being there if it is inclement weather. We will not walk if there is a thunderstorm, hail, ice, or dangerous lightning. We don’t want to put your dog, cat, or our employees at risk. We also have to take into consideration how your dog or cat feels about walking in inclement weather.
What if there is an emergency, and my pet requires medical attention?
In the rare event of pet illness or another medical emergency and the specified vet is unavailable. The pet will be taken to the closest vet or emergency care facility. Our contract documents also have a required field to let us know the maximum spend for emergency care. If we can’t reach our client during an emergency, any Kahu Pet Services expenditure will need to be reimbursed with interest immediately upon contact. Any outstanding balances beyond 30 calendar days will have an additional late fee of 1.5% added or the fullest amount applicable by law. Additionally, if collection efforts need to occur, incurred legal fees or any other expense will be charged to the client to the fullest extent applicable by law.
Should I tip my pet sitter/walker?
If your pet sitter/walker went above and beyond for your furry, feathered, or scaly pet, a tip is the best way to show you liked their work. Nothing is ever expected, but every little bit is certainly appreciated.
How am I invoiced?
Kahu Pet Services accepts cash, check, and credit cards on our website at https://kahupetservices.net. Payment is due in advance of service. Invoices will be submitted to client at the first of each month or upon request. If a client requests to extend service, they guarantee payment at the same rate for all services at the time of requested change. Although not required, if you wish to tip your sitter, you may select the amount when paying your invoice or at the end of service.
Do you charge weekend fees?
No! We do not charge weekend fees at this time.
Do you charge holiday surcharges?
Yes! The holiday season is exceptionally busy, and we strive to fulfill all requests. To compensate your sitter or walker for their extra effort during this period, there is a holiday surcharge of $12 per day. Please contact us through email at kahupetservices.com or call us at +1.512.734.2731 to receive holiday service.
Holiday Schedule (Subject to Change)
Do you accommodate last-minute requests?
Of course! $10 additional (outside of regular rates) per visit is charged to compensate for the sitter/walker's schedule change.
What is your refund/credit policy?
We fully understand that plans can change. To be respectful to your pet sitter during the holiday season as noted above, and to other customers, we request that you cancel your services as soon as practical, but minimally 7 days prior to the first visit. Cancellation less than 7 days prior to a holiday booking will result in a 50% service charge. For regular pet walking, cancellation can occur no less than 24 hours in advance of scheduled services and a fee of $10 will be charged.
